A Year in a Glance

A look back at 1 year in business

Well, first of all... hello everyone, and welcome to my new blog! I’m excited to begin this journey and share more of an insight into certain sessions and so much more. I intend for this blog to be very raw, real, and just me blabbing... So, if you're interested in that, keep reading!

As I think back to a year ago, I never would have imagined my life would look like this. When I lost Trey in July 2023, I didn’t know where my life would take me after that. Praying about it and asking God to help me see my purpose in life revealed that this was truly the path I needed to take.

I don’t think I could have ever said that I was truly proud of myself before starting my business. Looking back, I am so grateful, thankful, happy, and proud that God helped me choose this path. I’m grateful that it pushed me to get out of the house during a time of grief, when most people would have wanted to avoid facing others. I’m grateful to have met so many wonderful people and been able to share my story with them because, truly, this can happen to anyone. I’m also grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to capture and be a part of so many special moments over the past year, which has helped me to keep going. I’m thankful to have a career where I can offer my talent as a services to others.

The past year has also brought a lot of anxiety, understandably so. But my career has pushed me to face that anxiety and push through it. It’s shown me that I can face any fear that comes my way and still be okay. A year ago, I never thought I would be so vulnerable on the internet, but I think it’s important to share my battles. We can all relate to one another, and it’s comforting to know we’re not alone in facing similar struggles. We are all going to be okay.

I couldn’t be more thankful for my friends, family, mentors, the photography community, clients, and my boyfriend over the past year. My friends and family helped me get back on my feet when I didn’t think I could. They continue to support me in my career and help me stay positive during moments of doubt. Mentors have pushed me and given me the confidence I needed to start my out career strong. The support from the photography community is unmatched, and I believe healthy competition is important so I’m thankful for that, too. My clients have been amazing, and I’m so grateful for those who’ve trusted me to capture their milestones and keep coming back. And to my sweet boyfriend Ben, I’m incredibly thankful for you for pushing me to be my best, for bringing me back to reality when I take on too much, for supporting me through every milestone in my career, and for holding me strong in my faith.

When I look back on this past year, all I can say is that I am so thankful, grateful, and blessed beyond words. I hope this first blog was a good one! If you made it all the way through, thank you for listening. My next post will be about one of my 2025 seniors, so stay tuned for that. I love you guys!

Praise the Lord.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;

    his love endures forever.
